The first major multimodal piece that was required for the class to do was the infamous "I Am From" poem. This piece was a poem that basically described where we were from. This wasn't your normal poem saying what town you are from or what state you are from but it would describe what you grew up with using different synonyms to describe sceneries and moments.

Once we actually wrote the poem we would use the software called Audacity which would allow us to record us reciting the speech orally. This addition to the original poem would allow the simple poem to become multimodal because of the use of audio would allow the listener to actually hear the words as well as the emotion of each and every word said.
